Q. What is Taekwondo? How is it different from other martial arts?

Ans. The origin of Taekwondo can be traced back about 2000 years to the country known today as Korea. Translated from Korean, Taekwondo means "foot, hand, the way". Today Taekwondo has developed into the world's most widely practiced martial art. Taekwondo emphasizes powerful, often high kicks and fast, dynamic techniques combined with control, discipline, and focus. Taekwondo is exciting, both to practice and watch, receiving international recognition as a medal sport in the year 2000 Olympics. It is now one of the fastest growing sports in the world.

Q. How is an Challengers Group different from other Taekwondo Academy (martial arts academy)?

Ans. Challengers Taekwondo Academy (Challengers Group) offer teachings of Taekwondo that we feel confident that no other can provide. Our classes are taught by
qualified instructors who have titles of state, and national champion titles. our strong teaching methods now create champions all across the Delhi, NCR and over the India. Unlike “franchise” Academy Challengers Group all come within a family environment with qualified Instructors and Masters teaching in every location.

Q. What does Taekwondo have to offer me?

Ans. Taekwondo offers something to everyone - young, old, male, female, fit and unfit. Unlike many martial arts, Taekwondo encompasses three faces: the "martial",
concentrating on self-defense, the "art", analyzing the structure, form and beauty of the techniques, and the "sport", playing on strategy and style.
Taekwondo students increase strength and coordination, improve cardio-vascular capacity, and learn something worthwhile.

Q. What are the classes like?

Ans. Challengers Group classes are conducted Monday through Saturday, and are separated according to belt rank. Classes consist of self-defense training, sparring, forms (routines of movement), and physical conditioning. You will never be pushed into something you feel uncomfortable doing or something for which you are not ready (i.e. sparring). All classes are taught by experienced Black Belt master instructors, and you will have a chance to advance in belts as your skills improve. Basically, you will learn a great martial art, make new friends, and have a lot of fun!!!

Q. What can Taekwondo do for my child?

Ans. Taekwondo at Challengers Group offers a variety of benefits to children. In addition to gaining a sense of individual accomplishment, often lacking in team sports, children will improve their poise, self-confidence, and self-discipline. This will carry into their home life and school work. In addition, they learn to be "street smart", to think instead of panic in potentially serious situations as well as how to react to threats from other kids. Discipline and respect are taught by leadership and example, not by fear of force, making this a positive character building environment for children and teenagers.

Q. What ages do you teach? Can I (parent) join my child in class?

Ans. At Challengers Group, we offer TaeKwonDo classes for children, adults and families. Classes are separated by age and level, creating specialized classes that focus on the students needs. Each class is instructed in a way to improve focus, coordination, discipline and self-confidence. Adult classes include self defense, confidence building and an excellent cardio vascular work out. Family class offers families (parents and children) to be able to practice together and to develop a special family bond by participating together that not many other activities can promote.

We teach students age 3½ to 55. Our little ninjas program provides classes for younger students to develop concentration, discipline and motor skills to help
them excel in life. Everyone is welcome to join, as long as they believe they are up to the physical nature of TaeKwonDo. We have several families where a
parent and the children all come to class together. Our classes are generally organized so students of similar belt level are in class together. We also have
children and Family classes where the whole family can participate at the same time, regardless of age and belt level. As long as everyone who wishes to sign
up is physically able to participate, we welcome you!

Q. My child has some attention issues (or other similar condition or physical issue). Will this be a problem?

Ans. No, this will not be an issue. In TaeKwonDo, we focus on learning discipline and respect. The student learns respect for their parents, their fellow
students, and themselves. They also learn how to be properly disciplined when in class. Students with ADD/ADHD improve dramatically through the guidance of
Masters and instructors. Students will concentrate more, improve in school and home all at the same time.

Q. My child is very shy. Will he/she be intimidated in class?

Ans. Every student is different and every student has a different comfort threshold. With the experience of the staff, we are able to help shy children with the
confidence to excel not only in Taekwondo but in life as well too!

Q. How much do the Taekwondo classes cost?

Ans. Challengers Group has different prices in each location. Please contact a location near you for an opportunity to try Taekwondo, meet your instructor,
see the benefits of Taekwondo and most importantly see if you or your child will enjoy the martial art before you commit to anything. During this trial
lesson you will be evaluated to see if Taekwondo is the right life activity for you.

Q: What age group is suitable for Taekwondo training? A: Taekwondo is suitable for a wide range of age groups, starting from around 3.5 years old and up. At our academy, we offer classes for kids, teenagers, and adults to cater to various age and skill levels.

Q: Do I need prior experience in martial arts to join Taekwondo? A: No prior experience is required. Our classes are designed to accommodate students of all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners.

Q: What are the benefits of practicing Taekwondo? A: Taekwondo offers numerous benefits, including improved physical fitness, enhanced flexibility, increased strength and endurance, better balance and coordination, increased self-confidence, self-discipline, and a sense of respect for oneself and others.

Q: How often should I attend classes? A: We recommend attending classes regularly to see steady progress. For beginners, 2-3 classes per week are ideal, while more advanced students may benefit from 3-5 classes per week. However, we understand that everyone has different schedules, so we offer flexible class options.

Q: What should I wear to Taekwondo classes? A: During your trial period, comfortable workout clothes such as a t-shirt and sweatpants are appropriate. After that, you'll be expected to wear a traditional Taekwondo uniform (dobok) which can be purchased at the academy.

Q: Can I watch a class before signing up? A: Absolutely! We encourage prospective students and their families to observe a class to get a better understanding of our training style and environment. You can schedule a trial class or observation through our front desk.

Q: Are your instructors certified? A: Yes, all of our instructors are certified and have undergone extensive training in Taekwondo. They are passionate about teaching and helping students achieve their goals.

Q: Is Taekwondo safe for children? A: Yes, Taekwondo is generally safe for children when taught under proper supervision and in a controlled environment. Safety is our top priority, and our instructors ensure that all students follow appropriate protocols during training.
